about us

Who are we?

The incredible journey of Care for a Child Foundation began very unexpectedly. I , the founder and Executive Director was invited to do a children’s party at the paediatric wing of the Uganda Cancer Institute in Mulago national referral hospital. I was invited to provide party material.

I saw very sick children with large tumors in overcrowded wards, and sharing sleeping mats with their caregivers on the hospital verandas. It was a sight that moved me to tears. Children were contracting malaria and other diseases because of living in the open, and many were dying from the toxicity of the cancer medication because of poor nutrition.

Your generosity counts

At Care For A Child Foundation, we are proud to say that our budget is 60% locally funded. This has been made possible through the generous support of our partners, both individuals and corporate organizations. Because of this support, we have been able to offer care and psychosocial support services to over 7,000 children and their care-givers for more than 10 years. Thank you for your support and generosity.
